Here is the story of Sew&Tell… it all started about three years ago during a church wide month long of fasting and prayer. One day I was doing my daily quiet time with God just praying and asking for Him to reveal the mission for my life and He spoke to my heart about starting a ministry called Sew&Tell which is a ministry that will reach orphans ministering to them through meeting their basic needs…such as clothing! A family friend’s dad is a missionary in Africa, one night he came over to my house and talked to me about the vision the Lord had given me. I told him I wanted to sew dresses for orphans! He loved the idea so much that he wanted me to send a thousand dresses to his orphanage he would pay shipping to get the dresses over there! I wanted to take on the task but was afraid of rejection and failure. 

 

Since I was still in the beginning stages of even thinking about how to do this God sized mission I was still seeking direction from the Lord. God made it very clear to me through prayer and fasting to go to seminary and get wisdom and training in how to minister to others and learn more. I trusted and obeyed God and registered for classes and moved to Lynchburg, VA to attend classes at Liberty University. I learned so much and met so many amazing people! This past May I graduated from school with my Masters of Christian Ministry. The desire to obey the Lord and to fulfill the calling that He has placed on my life has kept building in my heart.

   

I recently spoke to my friend who’s dad is the missionary in Africa and asked if there is still a need for clothing. He told me that there is still a big need for clean quality children’s clothing to be sent over to the 10 orphanages in Kenya. I am in the process of collecting clothing and trying to figure out the shipping details. I am praying for direction, I am so humbled to serve God in this exciting time of my life. We serve a living God and every day I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit’s direction on my life. My dreams are so big for Sew&Tell but I am even more excited for His plans! Join me as I follow Christ on this journey.
